Safeguarding
Our Vision
At Falcons Learning, safeguarding is taken seriously and central to everything we do. The safety and wellbeing of our learners is of paramount importance and demands constant vigilance, scrutiny and honest critical analysis.
Working closely with colleagues from East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s Safeguarding Team, we remain steadfast in putting our learners’ safety first - always.

Georgia was DDSL for a number of years and works closely with learners, parents and all relevant local authority agencies.

Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO)
The Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO) forms a part of the East Riding Safeguarding Children Partnership (ERSCP), a statutory multi-agency organisation which has been set up as part of the ‘Every Child Matters’ reforms. It brings together agencies who work to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people in the East Riding and requires that all organisations cooperate to keep children safe from harm.
The partnership aims to ensure that information, education and training is available for professionals, parents and carers, members of local communities and children and young people themselves all to achieve this aim.
Their responsibility is to oversee the workforce deployed to work with children within the East Riding. If you have concerns in relation to staff at Falcons Learning, please contact the LADO on the link below.
Supporting Children Through Operation Encompass
Falcons Learning is proud to be part of Operation Encompass - a national initiative that supports children and young people who may be affected by domestic abuse.
Operation Encompass is a partnership between schools and the police. It ensures that when the police attend incidents of domestic abuse, the school is notified before the next school day. This timely sharing of information allows us to provide effective support to the child and ensure they feel safe and nurtured within the school environment.
Our Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) is notified directly by the police through secure and confidential channels. The DSL will then ensure that appropriate pastoral care and support are provided, depending on the needs and wishes of the child.
We are committed to working in partnership to safeguard and protect all our pupils. Operation Encompass helps us to offer a secure and supportive environment, where children’s experiences are understood and responded to with care.
