Mental Health & Emotional Literacy

Supporting every learner’s emotional journey

At Falcons Learning, dedicated specialists are a vital part of the interventions we offer our learners, particularly in support of those with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

Our leadership staff have Masters level psychological understanding of the educational needs of students with SEMH. We have trained EBSA (Emotionally Based School Avoidance) and ELSA (Emotional Literacy Support Assistants), as well as offering mental health interventions through 1-2-1 talking sessions, draw and talk and music interventions.

Many learners have experienced challenges that affect their emotional wellbeing, resilience, and ability to engage fully with learning. By working closely with teachers, the SEND coordinator and carers, we can identify individual needs and provide targeted interventions to help learners understand and manage their emotions and promote better behaviour.

What are the benefits?

The benefits of dedicated counselling go far beyond emotional support. It’s about helping our learners to feel understood and supported.

By helping every learner cope with challenges, we can foster resilience, independence and a positive foundation for their future.
