Our learners recently enjoyed an incredible three-day, two-night camping trip, filled with adventure, teamwork and unforgettable memories.
The adventure began with everyone boarding the coach before being dropped off 6.6 miles from the campsite. From there, learners and staff set off on an exciting hike, working together and encouraging one another throughout the walk to reach their destination.
Once at the campsite, learners rolled up their sleeves and worked together to pitch their tents, creating their home for the next two nights. After settling in, they spent the evening learning the basics of fishing, giving everyone the opportunity to develop a new skill in the beautiful surroundings. As the sun began to set, everyone gathered around the campfire to roast marshmallows, relax and reflect on a fantastic first day.
Day two began with a delicious breakfast cooked on the BBQ, setting everyone up for another action-packed day. Learners enjoyed more fishing, putting into practice what they had learnt the previous evening, while others explored the local wildlife through butterfly catching. As the evening arrived, staff and learners took part in an exciting game of hide and seek, which brought plenty of laughter and friendly competition. The day ended perfectly with another evening around the campfire, where marshmallows were once again roasted and everyone enjoyed spending time together.
On the final morning, learners woke up to another BBQ breakfast before working together to pack away the campsite, demonstrating excellent teamwork and responsibility. With everything packed up, the group headed home after an amazing three days of adventure, resilience and fun.
The trip provided our learners with the opportunity to build confidence, develop practical outdoor skills, strengthen friendships and create lasting memories. We are incredibly proud of how every learner embraced each challenge with enthusiasm and positivity, and we would like to thank all of the staff who helped make the camping trip such a memorable experience.
